01 What is RecruitMap?

RecruitMap is a crowdsourced recruiting tracker that lets candidates anonymously report recruiting milestones and see activity reported by other applicants.

It is designed to provide more visibility into recruiting timelines, particularly when candidates are waiting to hear whether interview invitations, final rounds, offers, or rejections have started going out.

02 What does "R1 out" mean?

R1 out means that at least one candidate has reported receiving a first-round interview invitation.

It does not mean that every first-round invitation has been sent.

Firms may send invitations in waves, at different times for different offices, schools, roles, or candidates.

03 What does "Final rounds out" mean?

It means at least one candidate has reported receiving an invitation to the final interview stage.

Additional final-round invitations may still be sent afterward.

04 What does "Offers reported" mean?

It means at least one candidate has reported receiving an offer.

It does not necessarily mean that the firm has finished making offers or completed recruiting for that role.

05 When do consulting interview invitations come out?

There is no single date that applies to every consulting applicant.

Timing can vary based on the firm, role, office, school, recruiting channel, and year. Invitations may also be released in multiple waves.

RecruitMap is intended to help candidates see when other applicants begin reporting interview invitations during a particular recruiting cycle.

06 If someone else received an interview and I haven't, am I rejected?

Not necessarily.

Recruiting decisions are often released at different times. Candidates applying to different offices, schools, or recruiting channels may hear back on different schedules.

A report on RecruitMap should never be treated as confirmation of your own application status.

Your application status is only definitive when communicated directly by the employer.

07 How accurate is RecruitMap?

RecruitMap is based on voluntary, self-reported information from candidates.

It can be useful for identifying broader patterns, particularly when multiple independent users report similar activity, but RecruitMap does not independently verify every submission.

The data may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unrepresentative of the entire applicant pool.

08 Does RecruitMap know when a firm has finished sending interviews or offers?

No.

RecruitMap can show that candidates have begun reporting a particular recruiting milestone, but it generally cannot determine whether a firm has finished sending decisions.

For example, the presence of first-round invitations does not mean additional candidates will not receive interviews later.

09 Why are there only a few results for some roles or offices?

RecruitMap depends on candidates voluntarily contributing their recruiting results.

Some firms, roles, offices, or recruiting cycles may have significantly more submissions than others.

A small sample should be interpreted cautiously.

10 Is my submission anonymous?

RecruitMap is designed so recruiting results can be viewed without publicly identifying the person who submitted them.

Candidates should still avoid including confidential, sensitive, or personally identifying information in their submissions.

11 Can I submit someone else's recruiting result?

No.

You should submit only recruiting information based on your own experience.

Do not submit information about another candidate or confidential information obtained from an employer.

12 Can firms see my RecruitMap submission?

Recruiting results displayed on RecruitMap are public, so anyone may be able to view the information shown on the tracker.

For that reason, users should avoid submitting information that could personally identify them or disclose confidential information.

13 Is RecruitMap affiliated with the firms it covers?

No.

RecruitMap is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by any employer displayed on RecruitMap.

14 Should I rely on RecruitMap when making recruiting decisions?

RecruitMap should be used as one source of informal information about recruiting activity.

Crowdsourced reports cannot tell you your individual application outcome and should not replace official communications from an employer.

If RecruitMap and an employer's official communication conflict, rely on the employer.

15 Why should I submit my result?

Every additional legitimate submission helps improve the usefulness of the tracker.

Sharing when you received an assessment, interview invitation, final round, offer, or rejection can help other candidates better understand how a recruiting cycle is progressing.
